Northern Illinois' oldest working
Roman Catholic Church!
Join us as we begin a 33-day preparation for Eucharistic Consecration. Individual daily preparation will begin on Sunday, March 16. Our consecration will take place on Holy Thursday, April 17.
You are invited to spend about 15 minutes each day reading a chapter from, “33 Days to Eucharistic Glory”. Weekly check-ins will be led by Fr. Koys during Water & Wisdom (no wine or food during Lent) at 8-9pm each Wednesday and will also be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person. (Access the live stream by clicking on "Parish Videos" in the ribbon at the top of our homepage. Then click on the correct date under "Mass." Alternatively, the recording may be watched anytime later.). Families and groups of friends are encouraged to participate together.
There is no cost to participate in the program. Books are donated by The Sag Bridge Mission Society and will be distributed at St James after Masses on Ash Wednesday and Sunday, March 9 and 16 as long as supplies last. Additional copies will be available at the adoration chapel at St. Cyril & Methodius parish on a first come first serve basis. Books are not limited to one per family; every participant is invited to take a book.
Before March 16 – Whenever you are able, read the "Introduction: The Eucharist is the Answer" to better understand the journey you are going to take.
Sunday, March 16 (Day 1) – Read "Week 1: Day 1"; continuing to read one chapter daily. This will ensure readiness for our consecration on Holy Thursday, the Feast of the Institution of the Holy Eucharist.
Wednesdays, March 19 - April 9 – Join us at St. James Sag Hall, 8pm-9pm, each Wednesday as Fr Koys leads us in reflections and commentary during Water & Wisdom. (No session during Holy Week.) Live streaming will be available for those choosing not to join in person. (Access the live stream by clicking on "Parish Videos" in the ribbon at the top of our homepage. Then click on the correct date under "Mass." Also, the recording may be watched later.)
Holy Thursday, April 17 (Consecration) – St. James Church (in-person), consecration will take place during the Mass of the Lord's Supper. Consecration may also be private.

The act of Consecration is to devote yourself to God, making yourself available to do His will in your life. In particular, you will be consecrating yourself to Jesus in the Eucharist.
